Elkus Manfredi Architects re-designed and humanized two 1960s-era factory warehouses for Nuro, a growing robotics company developing self-driving, zero-occupant, electric vehicles that deliver local goods using proprietary mapping technology. Designers transformed the cavernous spaces into a connected, adaptable, sustainable, and collaborative R&D engineering campus that accommodates a variety of individual and collaborative work styles, cultivates cross-functional partnerships and learning, and promotes employee wellness. The new headquarters features a variety of flexible workspaces, integrates the brand, tells the product story, and represents Nuro’s core values while celebrating the communities Nuro serves.
